I had been looking forward to camp for the whole of the year. Room 3 and Room 5 were going on Boot Camp and everyone was excited. Boot camp was based on the army so we needed to wear dog tags. An ear piercing whistle blew and a stern voice said" in your groups please and in marched Mrs Fergus and Mrs Stark." Stand in, attention", Mrs Fergus shouted over the noise ,please go to you first activity.
While we were at our first activity which was the damper making Mrs Stark and Mrs Fergus came over with a bit of string and a card that had your surname on it. They also gave us a little card that said: Toko School Boot Camp 2018. On the card it had four grades. They were Private, Sergeant,Lieutenant and Captain. All the adults got a strip of stickers to give kids who did something good. The dog tags kept on getting caught and then breaking. Every now and again we would have ceremony's for the people who moved up a grade. It was really cool.
When we got to TeWera we went Kyaking. The lake wasn't in the actual camp ground but it was owned by the same person. It was a really long walk to get to the lake, but we finally got there. I was so puffed so I layed down my stuff and waited till it was my turn. While I was waiting it started to spit but not much. Hank and Clint offered to be the parents watching us in the lake. I had been kayaking before so it wasn't new to me. When we went kyaking we needed to wear a life jacket. My life jacket was yellow. The lake was full of ducks and we saw a vase ell. We keeper on banging into the banks. After I had had my turn Tessa's mum said that she would walk a few back to the road. I went with her Tessa and Maddy. When we were walking back we heard Mrs Stark come whizzing around the corner so we decided we were going to be hitch- hikers. We put our thumbs up but it didn't work. She came to us and wound down her window and said that we couldn't go past the cows because there were bulls in there. We finally got through the bulls and drove back to Te Wera camp grounds.
When we got back we had showers then went to our cabins. We were allowed 10 minutes talk until light out. I had two buddies in my cabin. My cabin buddies were called Leah and Karen. Our cabin name was the pukeko. The light in our cabin was flat so we needed ours replaced. There was a lot of rules in the cabins and one of them was that you weren't allowed to wear shoes in the cabins. We were in the cabins up the top. There was a bunk bed and a single bed in our cabin. The cabins were really cool but small. There was a punishment if we talked after light out it was that we needed to sleep with Mrs Fergus and Mrs Stark. We did room inspections on the first morning. I was really nervous. We got a sticker if our room was tidy. My cabin was really hot during the nights so we didn't sleep in sleeping bags.
It was really fun at camp,my favorite part was the kayaking and I am looking forward to going to camp next year.

Camp Evaluation
My first goal is...
To try a new food that I haven’t eaten before. I achieved my goal by eating a little bit of coleslaw on my burger.
My second goal is...
To not leave anything behind. I achieved my goal by double checking my cabin is clean before going down to the main hall.
